How Many Rakats is the Chasht Namaz?
Many questions have arisen about how many rakats are recited in Chasht Namaz or Salatut Doha Namaz. There is a matter of Chasht prayer in Hadith Sharif. Since we always follow the path of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), we can offer this prayer following his path.
Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) used to pray about four rakats. So we also perform four rakat. Their prayer time starts after Ishraq prayer, after some dhikr, until the sun sets, that is, until the dawn of two hours.

চাশত বা দুহার নামাজ আদায় করতে হয় সূর্য মধ্য আকাশে স্থির হওয়ার আগ মুহূর্তে। ‘দুহা’ শব্দের অর্থ ‘প্রভাত সূর্যের ঔজ্জ্বল্য’, যা সূর্য স্পষ্টভাবে প্রকাশিত হওয়ার পর থেকে শুরু হয়। সুতরাং দুহা বা চাশতের নামাজ সূর্যের তাপ যখন প্রখর হতে শুরু করে তখন এই নামাজ আদায় করা উত্তম। কেননা, নবী কারিম (স.) বলেছেন, صلاة الأوابين حين ترمض الفصال ‘চাশতের নামাজ পড়া হবে যখন সূর্যের তাপ প্রখর হয়।’ (সহিহ মুসলিম: ৭৪৮)
চাশতের নামাজের নিয়ম
চাশতের নামাজের নিয়ম সাধারণ নফল নামাজের মতো। সূর্য এক-চতুর্থাংশ উপরে উঠলে, গ্রীষ্মকালে ৯টা-১০টা, আর শীতকালে ১০টা-১১টার সময় সাধারণত তা আদায় করা হয়। কোনো সুন্নত নামাজে যেমন দুই রাকাত পড়ে ডানে ও বামে সালাম ফিরিয়ে থাকেন, এখানেও তেমনই। ইশরাক নামাজের নিয়ম চাশতের নামাজের মতোই।
